landscapes

With his second record „landscapes“ Stefan Oberthaler aka Keyminator continues the serious of „Out of the vulcano“. In 9 pieces the musical journey leads through the landscapes of the soul. For example the piece „windows“ abducts to refined possibilities of reception which lead back to the source.

„It’s important to me to create musical moments that are instantly touching, moving and growing within time“

This is achievable through multi-layered and complex sound programming which leaves space for interpretation at the same time and is characterised by a calming and relaxing atmosphere. The stilistic bow reaches from electronic jazz and electrofunk to downbeat. Altogether all 9 tracks can be summarized as NuJazz.

Just like on the first record „Watchtower“ singer/vocalist Marina Trost presents herself on the one hand with a voice which is giving 5 pieces the necessary musicality and presence by sensitivness and variable timbres and on the other hand as author and composer.

This is getting especially clear in the piece „onandon“ where complex singing without accompaniment meet electronical textures and where outlines of philosophic musical structures break open.

Re:Motion unites the whole production and represents a new suspense für Stefan Oberthaler aka Keyminator within his musical process of creating. At the same time this concept is in accord with the self chosen guiding principle „ Music has to be accesible and complex“.
